You can choose the cd image file format when you make a copy of a cd/dvd. But we also need to be able to convert files after they are created. Perhaps I created it as an MDS/MDF, but then later need a BIN/CUE or a plain ISO. I'd like to be able to just right-click on the image file shown in Alcohol120 and choose Convert on the popup menu.

You can mount your image in Alcohol virtual drive and re-create another image in another format from it with Image Making Wizard.

If Alcohol doesn't let you chose any format other that mds/mdf this is because most probably it is not possible to store this type of disc in ISO format.
What type of disc it is? and what datatype you are using to read it?

Its a MDS Backup of one of my ps2 games around 4gb. Is there a size limit on it? I can convert one of my CDR based ps2 games to ISO with Alcohol 120% but not this one.

Currently Alcohol can only create mds/mdf images from DVD's.
