I read somewhere that PentiumEE increase a lot of temprature out of logically tempratures and i was wondering they did it because they are too powerfull??Or something else going on??

I think it has more to do with power consumption and heat distrabution.

Buy a better heatsink fan combo, clear out cable clutter, mod your case for better air flow, buy a different cpu. Why spend all the extra $$ on the EE when you can go for AMD (Biased opinion).

However I couldn't agree more with your point about AMD. I'm a big AMD fan myself. (no pun intended...tee hee).

Pentium 4 (Standard) : 64 bits-EM64T, 32 bits compatible, standard cache, single core

Correction: 32 bits, no 64 bits, extra cache, single core

Charalambos, thanks for rectifying me (again).

But, I thought P4 standard one had no extra cache?

Well, actually...the 5xx series have 1MB L2 cache and are 32-bits only. The 6xx series have 2MB L2 cache and have the EM64T instructions. So it all depends on the model of P4.

Well guys, after having a look at Intel's site I found that things are even more complicated. Pentium EE is in fact a dual core proccessor consisted of 2 Pentium 4 ones. It is 64 bit combatible as is Pentium D but much better( and much more expensive). Intel has in fact two single core 64 bit proccessors: The no 32 bit combatible Intel Itanium and the 32 bit combatible Intel Xeon, which seems to be their equivalent to AMD64.

It gets even more fun. Im on the watch list for new AMD tech for a number of online PC sites. Two of them (tigerdirect.com and zipzoomfly.com ) have begun a presale of AMD x2 64 bit Dual core processors, with them being released within the month. dont have specs yet, but i can tell you they are all 4000 series and all fit into skt 939 with 2000mhz fsb

Intel is really too complicated. I do not want to be an idiot in the shopkeepers' eyes when I buy it. I dare even not ask questions about it in front of the shopkeepers, or I will definitely pay extra for my purchase.

AMD will be my choice in future.

Yeah, you got it. problem is, Intel is talking about creating a new socket for the later generations of Dual cores and 64 bit stuff, as the current socket really cant take advantage of the new stuff
