SPTD problems-

Here's some background on my computer-my technically minded sister at the time owned it as the administrator and then gave it to me, with some stuff already on it. Therefore, I don't know if I have any kernel debuggers on it that may be conflicting with the installation. As for reformatting, its not really a realistic option for me at this point either.
I was wondering A) how to correct this SPTD driver installation problem and if the problem has to do with kernel debuggers, if there is a software program out there that will scan my hard drive for any strings or keywords related to a number of popular debuggers..since I have no clue how to use them or which are popular. Also, C), where can I find older versions to download of Alcohol 52 percent without the SPTD layer (I have an older version of daemon tools without it but cannot find any old versions of alcohol on this site).
Thanks for any help on this issue in advance.

On the subject of copy protections, it seems like you have the most commonly used ones covered. However, what should I do if I run into games or audio CD's with unusual or not widely used protection methods, such as:
Alcatraz
AlphaROM/AlphaDVD
CD-Lock
CD-Protect
CopyLock/CodeLok
CrypKey
DBB
DiscGuard
DVD-cops
FADE (degrades game performance subtly over time for a few games)
HexaLock
LockBlocks
PhenoProtect
ProtectCD/Protect DVD/Protect DVD-video
Roxxe
SafeCast
SmartCD/SmartED/SmartE
SoftLock
SVK Protector (SVKP)
TAGES
The Copy Protected CD/Bongle
Would all those be fine just using the "general CD protection " database method of making the ISO?
More info available about those protections at http://www.cdmediawo...otections.shtml, sounds like some of them are quite hard to make copies of. I am just a newbie and I'm not probably telling you anything you don't know..nor am I trying to say I know more than you or anything...I am just wondering what to do about those protections - is there a general method that will work on most of them, or do they each need a seperate method, if so what is that?

I've never seen or heard of these, but that's a good thing as it means that you'll probably never run into them, either.
Same as CD-Cops, for which there is a profile in Alcohol. Just read using DPM extraction and it should work fine.
This isn't a disc copy protection. It works with another copy protection to secure the executable.
This is a commercial copy protection only found on expensive software packages that I'm aware of. To my knowledge, no games use this.
There is a ProtectCD profile in Alcohol. I'm not sure about this copy protection on DVD.
Essentially just a Safedisc clone by MS (in fact, MS designed Safedisc and then sold the rights to Sony/Macrovision).
Unfortunately, there is no software available that can rip Tages discs. DTools Pro - when it comes out - will have this capability. But not a lot of software uses Tages anyway, so it's not a huge issue.
I wouldn't worry too much about copy protections you *might* run into. Best thing would be to come ask for help if you *DO* run into one of them, or a copy protection you can't figure out how to make work.

really? because the code in safedisc and securom are quite different, they even use different checking methods
AlphaROM/AlphaDVD
last time i looked it was settec alpharom... which was more or less an svkp protected executable with a cdcheck... nothing 'interesting', and i think clonecd worked on it (was a long time ago) so alcohol could probably do it without breaking a sweat

How to make a usable backup copy for the disc with Hexalock?
What settings in Alcohol 120% should I use?
