I would like to see the alchol program autodetect 40% of your total memory. right now with 4 gig of memory 256 meg of buffer memory doesnt cut it, or even a version for us higher end memory users. like maybe up to a gig of memory or more as a buffer, would cut down on the time to make copies to the hard drive or reading a cd / dvd. espically if you are using a 64x system which candle handle more memory and more processor power.

Except at a certain point, you start getting little to no value from the extra memory. And in some cases, you can even achieve negative results from allocating too much RAM. The devs have tested and determined that 256MB is sufficient. Are you having a particular problem when burning? If so, you should post in the Alcohol Support forum.
