DVD or CD?

What settings have you used to make the image?

on the image making wizard the dvd is selected
it is set to never seperate
and the skip reading errors box is selected
then i have tried it selected with the advanced sector selected and I have tried it without it.
currently I am trying to copy it as an mdf file so I can leave it on my hard drive
when I load it on the virtual drive or I burn it to a DVD using Alcohol then it gives me the insert disk error

Have you tried running the mounted image whilst running YASU to bypass any blacklist on the virtual drive?

To make a working copy of a Safedisk protected DVD you must burn the image that you make with the RMPS data and enable Alcohol's RMPS emulation before using it. But first of all you must make a working image. Try with the default settings for DVDs( no DPM, or Advanced Sector Scaning, skipping read errors is also not needed for a Safedisk protected DVD as it does for a Safedisk protected CD) and read the disk at the lower possible speed.

With the DVD I am unable to select the read speed of the disk, I have tried it at the default settings and still have not been able to get it to work without the No disk error.

Did you install the game from the images in the Virtual Drive?

You could try reinstalling from the image instead. You might find you need to unplug your physical drives, possibly. It seems to be hit-and-miss for people. On my two systems, I don't even need to use YASU to play BF2142. For others, they have to jump through a number of hoops (like you have).

Do you mean to un-plug the drives while making the image, or unplug the drives everytime you go to use the image??

Thx.

When you use the image. Alternatively you can temporarilly disable your physical drives from the Device Manager.

Yes, I would mind, because that would be ILLEGAL.
