Dear Sirs., I installed Alcohol to record dvd´s and cd´s, in the reality I wanted to install the version before Trial, but I made a mistake. Now I don't get to uninstall, when I click in "uninstal", appears "Setup i unable to validate installation". Here in the forum, I found some solutions, I tried with the following:

"To manually remove Alcohol, please adopt following steps:
For version 1.9.5.3105
1.run "regedit"
2.Find "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{E9F81423-211E-46B6-9AE0-38568BC5CF6F}", then delete that.
3.Find "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\32418F9EE1126B64A90E8365B85CFCF6", then delete that.
Then to remove Alcohol driver you need to start Regedit then go to HKey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services here you should find the Keys for the Alcohol Driver in version 1.9.2.1705, 1.9.5.2722 or 1.9.5.2802 a347scsi and a347bus, or in version 1.9.5.3105 vax347s and vax347b, delete these Keys and remove corresponding files from Windows\System32\Drivers folder.
Re boot your PC".

I found and I deleted Step 2- "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{E9F81423-211E-46B6-9AE0-38568BC5CF6F} ".
But I didn't find 32418F9EE1126B64A90E8365B85CFCF6, only "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\.

As I didn't get to uninstall, I installed the version "Trial", to try later to delete the whole program, in the first time, virtual Drivers, were not installed. The first version that I installed of Alcohol was 1.9.7.6022. I want to delete, for later to install the version pays and to record my dvd´s and cd´s. I need the help to solve this problem. thanking your attention to the matter, I remain..

I advise you to run SMTP that you can find here
http://www.duplexsecure.com/download
to unistall virtual drive.
If it doesn't work try to run smtp in recovery mode.

Dear friends, first, thanks, Stuff.
When I try to uninstall Alcohol, the message that cannot be done appears because "sw_9e-20080529-000602.log", is being used by other program or person.
I found a clue in the site of Alcohol, it is the following: If you have problems deinstalling Alcohol please check that StarWindService.exe i not running, if it i stop the process you should then be able to removes Alcohol.
When opening the program, of Alcohol and to try to turn off part by part, is this paste, what the one of "Starwind", is not able to and doesn't it let to turn off the program, does it belong inside to her that is in the paste Log "sw_9e-20080529-000602.log". Is my english weak, for the what did understand I, is not StarWind turning, if he stops the process, you can be skilled in removing Alcohol, is quite so? Or did I change everything, rsrsrs?
What should make? The content of the log is:

Has 10 files of that type inside of Logs, inside of StarWind, each one with a different date, I think they are the times that I tried to open Alcohol or Alcohol (program file) file, the previous ones can turn off but that last one, no, it is him that appears when I click in uninstalling and that it is being used for outher person or program.

Thanking you for your attention, I remain, yours truly, Julio XP.

It's a nice post where from people can get information about the problem that they would face on installation.
