I've been a long-time user of Nero, as it was such a great burning app back when Adaptec's horrible EZ CD Creator was the primary choice. But with every new version they continue to add all of these other crap apps that I don't want; Video compression, audio conversions, editing apps, etc etc. It's turned into this bloated piece of trash. I just want to burn data discs!

I'm now in a position where I need to run it on XP 64 and/or Vista, but I'm still on version 6. And I refuse to pay more for an upgrade than I paid for the app originally because of all of this added fluff I don't even want. Why they don't just sell the 'Nero Burning ROM' app separately....

ANYWAY are there any thoughts about either expanding the 'premastering' support in Alcohol or spinning it off into a separate app just for burning data CDs and DVDs? It seems like there is a good foundation in 120% built but the GUI just needs to be setup for doing this task specifically.. being able to create a folder structure on the disc to burn easily, drag files around, multisession support, etc - the typical stuff - and burn a disc directly without having to compile an image first.

Just throwing out my wants and desires whistling.gif

There are plans for additional functionality to be added to the premastering feature of Alcohol, but I haven't heard anything at this stage about making it a standalone application.
