I would like to see Alcohol 120 be set apart from all other ripping utilities by offering high quality disc preservation abilities.

Synthesize:
IsoBuster www.isobuster.com - determined extraction
PerfectRip http://perfectrip.cdfreaks.com/ - offset correction + c2 error detection + subs alignment
Redump.org http://redump.org/guide/cddumping/ - allow standardized dumping procedures to compare dumps with others

Ideally, I would like a ripper that can extract all possible information RAW+96, correct for audio offset, do DPM, and have it in a somewhat open format (though, if mdf/mds could do all this, i could stand it being closed). Another big thing would be to reread each sector carefully to ensure proper audio extraction. Now, I don't know if it would make a difference, but since subs are different every time you read them (no error correction) would it be possible to read them multiple times and perform statistical analysis on the result?

I'm sure many redump.org folks would be willing to pay extra for such abilities rather than rely on a buggy mishmash of software.

Pipe dream, but still could be an industry first.
