Hi, I've got a problem with burning an image to a cd. Burning goes well, but the result is that the new cd doesn't open the game (as does the original one). What could be the explanation? I have imaged a game protected with Safedisk 4. (what is Safedisk 4 EFM writer, by the way?

Second, I can play some games directly from an image, others not. Why? In case they refuse, they ask for the original disk to be inserted. Strange, for that disk has just been copied to the image, isn't it?

Hope to hear from you, thanks so much, LtK

1.
EFM : http://en.wikipedia....teen_Modulation
So a Safedisc 4 EFM burner is a burner that can handle safedisc 4 bad sectors correctly.

2.
It's seems normal to me. Some of your images are badly created (not using the good profile or bad reader). That's why you have to mount a image before burning it on a blank media :
If your image can't be launch, burning this image on disk will not solve your issue (and never will).

To fix some of your issues, check that the correct emulation options are activated (ie RMPS for SecuROM protected disc).

You must detect the copy protection scheme of a game's disc with Alcohol's Data-Type Analyzer or ProtectionID (you can find it in the web) and use the corresponding CD/DVD datatype in Alcohol for making the image and/or burning it.
