Plextor also seems to have a better tray mechanizm and overall look to it.
LiteON is hands down cheaper though. Seems "you get what you paid for" is true in this case.
So be warned when you make your decision.

Yep, that's what I thought when I bought my PX-708A. I paid 2.5 times as much as the equivalent Liteon or other brand but didn't mind knowing I had that "legendary" quality of a Plextor.
Six weeks after the warrant expired (approx 2 weeks ago) it stopped recognizing any type of CD, pressed music CDs, CD-R, CD-RW. Did the self-test with a blank DVD+R and sure enough, the result was a read/write error. I am not alone on this, many have the same problem. Plextor Tech Support gave me a ticket # to start the RMA process. However, RMA Support only forwarded the price list of refurbished ones since mine was off warranty. The refurbished 708A was more expensive than a brand new Pioneer DVR-108. Can you guess what my decision was?
"Be all and end all?" Not a chance. Legendary quality? Not any more. Don't be fooled by hype.

Bacon, Tomato and Cheese?
It's nice to see that a member of the "support team" has a sense of humor!
To clarify: BTC CDWRITER IDE5224 after acknowlegdement by windows. Or as printed on the label on the drive ...BCE5224IM....You know, the 2 sheep drive that puts most other (highly priced) drives to shame. The last statement was based on personal experience as I have a friend in the computer hardware business, and have had a chance to try a good number of current CD/DVD drives. Plextor who??? Premium what??? The best thing about this drive is that I got it for free from a workmate that was gonig to take the tower it was in down to the Salvation Army! Glad I told him I'd take it off his hands. Yes, it reads/writes 1:1 copies of darn near anything I put in it (doggone Tages)...this drive's capabilities may be the very reason I have no trouble backing up SD 3.2 protections without emulation...among others. I'll keep using my "Bacon, Tomato and Cheese" with no troubles whatsoever... This drive, paired with Alcohol 120, is what keeps my PC game collection in perfect condition. Thanks for a great product, keep up the good work! Happy Holidays...

What do you recommend me, the Plextor or the Litey? I don't care about the price.

I agree, Just bought the LTR-52327S last month for $24 at newegg (pretty quiet for a lite-on) and no coaster so far.
And from what 40+ customers say at newegg the Lite-On SOHW-1633S 16x DVD-+RW DL is supposed to great

It is. I've got that drive (see my sig) and I have no problems burning SD 3.20 games (Doom3, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, etc). I love that drive.
