$150.00 ..... blink.gif ...... I've always used ATI and i've never been sorry for making that dissision(1997 was the first)....try to stick with the 9000 family the higher the better , 64 mb and up ! The 9700 and up support 4 and 8 AGP just in case you want to part with some cash, but the only problem is you need a mobo that supports it like ASUS(gold edision check model) my other favorite !
Oh yes...and don't be fooled by some of there renamed old models , check there site to make sure so when you go buy it it's the right one.(Geforce is just as guilty about renaming old stock with simaler names to ther newer equipment)... wink.gif

I'm not loyal to either. At the moment I have a GF4Ti4200 and it does me fine, who knows in a few months what i'll have. I simply go with what I can afford at the time. I will admit to looking at NVidia solutions first, although I'm not impressed with the low to mid range FX series.

IF i had to buy a card RIGHT FREEKING NOW! and had no time to wait, go with a 9600 from ati. in raw perfromance its fatser than a 5600/5700 in true pixal shader 2.0. any game that comes out in the next few months with 2.0 shader language will be slower untill nvidia optimizes for thier game.

the 9600 will overclock nicely and grant a small boost in speed

the issue of pci express is pretty safe for now, agp8x and pci16x will both co-exist for quiet sometime. i dont expect agp to really drop off untill sockect 478 is dead. at leats a good year...

at this moment ati, given 6 months, probably nvidia...but well see...

Ladies and Gentlemen I am happy to announce that today I bought the ATI RADEON 9600 XT I spent $213.19. I am so happy with it. Just playing games like Max Payne 2 and HALO. There is just so much better graphical detail and textures it's amazing! So thanks to all for stating their opinion. If you know anything about this Graphics Card feel free to post it on here...I would enjoy reading it. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Binky congrats on the 9600XT you've got a great card there. I've just finished playing Max Payne 2. With my specs I played it at 1600x1200 with 6x aa and 16x af and maximum detail settings in the in-game options. It is a thing of beauty. I'm sure you know about the -developerkeys -screenshot switch for even more eye candy?

I only buy parts from newegg. and i think you could have save yourself a FEW dollars.
ATI 9600XT
Also alot of people dont know NE will rma your stuff out there. It was a year i have to call my friend to make sure if its still a year. or did they change that. But really if your a i got ot have it RIGHT now kind of person dude thats great enjoy your card. if you buy ANY retail they all come with HL2. Let me know if you plan on overclocking. I would like ot findout some real world benches from a person on how that goes.

PS. ZKill thats just CRAZY talk smile.gif.
