Please run regedit.exe (using Start -> Run) and then browse to HKLM\\Software\0d79c293c1ed61418462e24595c90d04 you should have an "r" value, please delete it and then try to re-install Alcohol.

Windows 10 and KB4462933 and/or KB4467702? If yes then please wait for the next version of Alcohol, in the meantime you can uninstall these updates in order to create virtual drives with Alcohol.

Thank you @Charalambos !  I have been a customer since 2009 and today is the first time I've ever had a problem.  Went to mount an image and nothing happened when I double-clicked on the image.  Then I looked and there was no virtual drive.  Tried to add it, uninstall/reinstall, you name it.  Finally came here and realized that I had KB4467702 installed.  I uninstalled it, rebooted and it works! I had to go into the settings and set # of virtual drives to 1 but it added it and all is working.

You are welcome. :) By the way, if you update to Windows 10 1809 you can install all the updates with no problem.

I have the same problem. I use Alcohol 52% 2.0.3 (Built 11012) under Windows 10 64bit. It used to work fine, but it has stopped working some weeks ago and now it cannot create any virtual drive.

I select "one" as "Number of Virtual Drives", a windows pops up saying "Applying the Alcohol virtual device settings. Please wait... ", after a few seconds it disappears but the virtual drives hasn't been created.

In Windows, if I check in Windows Settings/Update and Security/View update history I can see that I have the mentioned update KB4467702 installed (Successfully installed on ‎23/‎11/‎2018).

I tried to uninstall it by selecting "Uninstall updates" (which brings up Control Panel/Programs/Programs and Features/Installed Updates but this update KB4467702 is not listed as an installed update, so I cannot remove it from here.

I tried to type at the command prompt wusa /uninstall /kb:4467702 but I get a window saying that "The update KB4467702 is not installed on this computer".

I've also tried to install/reinstall alcohol as well as the SPTD2 drivers for Windows 10, but to no avail... Any hint?

Hello, I installed yesterday windows 10 x 64 vers. 1903 and when installing 120% alcohol they get Device Driver error failed! (Alcohol Virtual AHCI Controller Management Service), the computer works very hard, shutdown takes a long time and starts the same! With the previous version worked correctly, what can this error be?

Please try to download and install the latest version of Alcohol instead and please let us know if you still have problems.
