Hello

I just downloaded the trialversion of alcohol 120 and im very pleased for the most part. but after some backups I noticed that Im not able to read DPMs of DVDs on both presicion level normal and high with any speed setting ): . My optical drive is a DVD-burner from LG, GSA-H20L with latest firmware 1.01. do i have any chance to make the DPM-extraction work?

If you read the rules: http://forum.alcohol...showtopic=23848 you must first post a "Full System Report" before we can offer you any help. Please post this and we will see what we can do for you...........

We request a full system report before giving support and we remove those system report because they are containing information which do not have be read by everybody. The "removed" system report is still being seen by mods or support people.
Please check if your drive is supported by Alcohol, check it here:

http://support.alcoh...m/en/drives.php

In case it is not, request it to be suopported.
Some drives do read DPM well but others donīt do that job well.

Also check if you have any filter drivers installed - such as those used by AnyDVD or DVD43 - or if you have any StarForce drivers in your system that can sit between the drive and the OS and may prevent Alcohol from doing it's job properly.

Uninstall or disable AnyDVD and give it a shot.

You could try the latest trial version and see if that makes a difference. Some drives are just unable to obtain the DPM sad.gif

i use the latest trial version. with the trial version of VirtuelCD8 i could read the 'DVD-geometry' without errors. thats why i thought the problem is caused trough software sad.gif . but how is the securom protected app able to check wether the current disc is in the drive when my drive cant extract DPMs?

The method of DPM extraction is designed to be widely compatible with most drives, but not with every drive. Some drives just won't work.
