Go to control panels/system/hardware/device manager, find under "SCSI and RAID controllers" the Alcohol* SCSI controller, and remove it.

tried that, yet on reboot the virtual drive is magicaly there.
The complete folder of Alcohol in C :/program files has been deleted, why does this still persist?

And the instructions are frikkin terrible, excuse my french.

.Find "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\32418F9EE1126B64A90E8365B85CFCF6", then delete that.

yeah, cant find it, BECAUSE IT IS NOT THERE.

HKey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services here you should find the Keys for the Alcohol Driver in version 1.9.2.1705, 1.9.5.2722 or 1.9.5.2802 a347scsi and a347bus, or in version 1.9.5.3105 vax347s and vax347b, delete these Keys and remove corresponding files from Windows\System32\Drivers folder.

there is no a347scsi......in there anywhere. '
do you wnt me to post a screenshot of what i am seeing?
when did uninstalling become so damn complicated and frustrating?
cant you guys have a normal unnstaller like the rest of the software industry.

i am really ticked off right now, i dont need this aggravation, please help me get this thing off.

thanks,
vlad.

Have you tried to reinstall Alcohol and set the number of Virtual Drives to 0 in Alcohol's options?

thanks for your reply zamiel, i really, really would prefer to keep that as a last option, ................
why arent the registry entries matching up with the ones that are on my system? cant we make some adjustments/deletion somewhere in the registry?
would be great if we could solve this another way.

Have you had a previous version installed?

Later versions do not use those drivers and now use SPTD.

Alcohol does have a normal uninstaller, just like everyone else. And just like everyone else, sometimes things don't work properly, and so it requires a manual removal.

Try downloading the standalone SPTD installer and use the remove option. Also, search for vaxscsi.sys instead. That should be the name used for the new versions.

Ah Jito463, you are a genius!
you knew exactly what you were saying didnt you, your advice worked flawlesly!
Just wish you had come sooner..but hey!
The standalone thingy worked, it had the option to 'uninstall' and BAM, it did.
Problem solved.

Thank you very much, have a nice day.

This, doesn't make any sense. Are these keys? I've searched through the registry for all this stuff and found nothing.

Tried the SPTD app install/uninstall trick to no avail. Emulated drive still won't go away. Its there after every boot. The only way I can make it disappear temporarily is by uninstalling the driver through Device Mangler. But, it only works for that session and re-appears after the next boot.

Are you sure you don't have any other virtual disc software installed? If you removed SPTD, then Alcohol's device drivers simply cannot function and it would be impossible for them to still remain.

Also what version of Alcohol do you have? Versions up to 1.9.5.3105 have other virtual device drivers than the SPTD one.
