I have burnt a couple BIN files to CDs using alcohol 120%. Just burnt the BIN files only the standard image wizard way. they both work on my CD-i player except that the music is choppy and there is a lot of fuzzy lines on screen when i play these games. does anyone know why? or how to burn good copies of CD-i BIN game files?

What we are saying is that we request a system report in its entirety before support will be given in the trial forum.

Inside Alcohol > View > System Info

Copy and paste the information in to a post here. Thanks.

No, you do this from within Alcohol itself, not from the website.

Nothing stands out in your system report, how did you make the images and what are they of?

They were .BIN files which are ROMs of Philips CD-i video games. They were just burnt in the standard way using the image burning wizard. They work in my console but there is fuzzy lines and choppy music which makes the games unenjoyable.

also the .CUE files that came with the .BIN images were not burnt but the filename of the .BIN files corresponded to the filenames in the .CUE files.

the Philips CD-i was not released in Australia or New Zealand so maybe someone from the States or Europe who has one will be able to help me better?

What settings did you use to make them?

The Philips CD-i is fairly old and one could possibly say there is no protection to cause such issues.

Maybe the cue/bin files that you burned aren't so good. How did you get them?

Charalambos - the ROMs work perfectly fine in the emulator.

can anyone maybe suggest another burning program capable of burning images? Preferably one that works in Windows 98. I tried one before 120% (cant remember which) but i couldnt even get them to start with that one.

Sounds more like it's with your Philips system then. Probably the laser in the system just isn't capable of reading burned discs properly.

You also haven't answered the question of how were the images made?

Yeah thats possible. I'd still rather test it out using different burning programs before giving up though. Don't worry you won't lose any business if you recommend another program I'm not gonna pay for a full version.

Also I just thought of this - my CD-i is a NTSC-US console it's possible that the BINs are PAL. One is a prototype which I doubt is PAL though so is there anyway to check the format?

Here is the Alcohol Trial Support Forum, so we talk only about Alcohol. Since the images are playing perfectly on the emulator the issue must be with your console, perhaps the PAL/NTSC issue you mentioned. To find other burning programs to test just do a web search.
