Not for certain Asian cultures. Many use the lunar cycle (yesterday) as the begining of the new year. Get with it man... sheesh

Thank you very much Shawn. biggrin.gif

You are right, it is not for all Asian, just Chinese, it is a pure Chinese calendar. The first day was on 7th of this month, and the sign of this year is mouse.

Ahhh... I have had too much chocolate these few days, have got a bit (well.. not a bit, quite actually) fat... blush.gif

Though there are several days holiday, I have been a bit busy. Some of my relatives and friends abroad have come back here for the new year.

Just a little side note: The Chinese calendar is not really lunar, but rather a mixture of solar and lunar one.

Wish all people here, whether Chinese or not, also joy, wealth. smile.gif

Thank you Iluro. biggrin.gif It is not late, it is still within the new year period. Usually it is regarded as the first fifteen days.

Yes you know better than me: The formal name is Rat rather than Mouse. (By the way, I am not too clear the distinguish of meanings between these two words.)

Hope your study get on well. smile.gif

Hey MaLing,
If it´s not yet too late, Happy New Year, be it with accompagnied a lot of success and good health!
Btw. Rat are the big, fat and ugly ones, whereas a mouse is the small kind :-)
