Command And Conquer Gold

I just heard that EA Sports had been providing the old game 'Command And Conquer - Gold' to be downloaded for free. Numbers of years ago I bought the DOS version of this game, and was attracted by it; the graphics and video were great to me, in addition to the great game.

I did not have the Windows version, and I knew this Windows version had a much better resolution, so I went to download it and wanted to try it in Windows, wishing to enjoy a better performance.

Well, though the resolution was better than in DOS, the overall video and graphics quality was too bad...Yes, too bad, because the newer games nowadays are much much much improved.

It completely spoiled the image of this game in my mind. This story teaches me not to dig something too deep.

Of course, this is not the fault of this game, it just proves that I am not 'backwards compatible'.

Many of us are spoiled on the newer versions with their fancy graphics and sound. My niece got Super Mario Brothers for her nintendo DS for her birthday, and I thought oh man I can beat that game with 1 man. It took me awhile to get used to how slow that game is compared to games now. I even tried breaking out my old Nintendo 32 bit and tried to play Mortal Kombat... ohh that game is so slow now...

In fact, all the improvement of speed, graphics, and sound etc are mostly related to the more advanced equipment, the interest of some games itself is not improved much, many people find that some old games are still interesting comparing to newer games.
