After I restored the system Alcohol sent some strange messages saying "Unable to load the drivers of the Alcohol! Emulation Options and the native interface of the drivers of Alcohol 120, will not be available". And now every time I try to install the Alcohol appears the window of installation of the driver SPTD 1.86, is loading ai asks to restart the computer, restart and then starts everything in the same story, already rebooted more than 23 times and does not install anything. After that uninstall Alcohol, I deleted the records, deactivated, turned off and exclude the SPTD Driver and did not solve the problem.

Use the standalone SPTD installer/uninstaller from www.duplexsecure.com in order to uninstall SPTD, reboot and then try to install the latest version of Alcohol (with SPTD 1.90).

I've got almost the same problem in Windows 8.1 64 bit.

The SPTD installer tells me, there's nothing to uninstall.

I tried to upgrade to the latest version.

Uninstalling and removing folders din't help either.

It seems, it can't install the new SPTD driver.

Any Idea?

Kind regards,

Search manually your Drivers folder for any SPTD.sys and/or SPTDxxx.sys files and delete them. Also search your registry for any entries containing "sptd" and delete them. Then reboot and try to install SPTD again.
