Ok, after answering so many questions on the forum here, it is time for me to do a bit of asking! LOL.... The Kids just got PS2 for Christmas and they still have a bunch of PS1 games. I am looking for a solder free solution to this. I want to be able to play backups of PS2 AND PS1 games and I d not want to solder anything in. Also want the latest version. Can someone tell me the best way to go with this? I hate to lose all those PS1 games I made backups of! And I look forward to making and testing some PS2 backups! HELP ME!!!! LOL....

Well if you want to avoid soldering all together then that leaves you with the few NO-Solder mods on the market. I have one in my PS2 since I have no soldering skills at all and am too cheap to send it off for someone to install a good mod-chip. The downside, obviously, is that you need to use boot discs/swap method of some kind to play your PS2 backups(dunno about PS1 I don't own any). Also certain games will require you to apply patches to the actual CD/DVD backup image before burning. I would recommend finding a reputable modder online and have a "real" mod chip professionally installed for you so you can simply direct boot any backups without the swap hassles. That's my two cents, hope some small part helps. Good Luck.

TY, that is what this is about. I want to get it mod chipped, but would like to use a solderless one. At least I think that is the way to go. I was just looking for suggestions...
