Anyone familiar with the Lite-On LTR-24102M? I've found out from web searches that it is a DELL OEM and that when it was initially released it didn't do correct EFM encoding. I also found links to two different firmware revisions but no mention if they fix its EFM encoding problem.
Thanks!

i'm pretty sure that it DOES do correct efm encoding. from what i understand the specs are about the same as the 24102b. i could be wrong but that would be uncharacteristic of me.

It's the same: 24102B, 24102M and 24103S (I have this).
But 24103S (chipset 3) can be overclocked to 32123S or 40125S.

Thanks netman and mapi for the information!
The firmware updates that I found for it are from DELL's website. Any idea if the firmware updates for the 24102B or 24102S will work on it?

i wouldn't try it myself. i'm only talking about the specs and i don't really know if there are any other differences. besides, dell is a very reliable company and very up-to-date with everything. i have done quite a bit of business with them with never any problems. stick with the dell firmware releases.
