You don't have to reboot when installing Alcohol anymore, but SPTD is another matter. It affects things on a very deep level in the system, and can't install without a reboot.

In my case when I create virtual drives through Alcohol( and of course during installation) Windows ask me to reboot in order to complete the installation of the new devices. This hapens only on my laptop( Windows XP SP2 fully updated) and not on my desktop( Windows XP SP2 also but no updates- no internet connection). I just mention it as something strange.

it takes alot longer to reboot my box.
all drives are encrypted i need to go down to the basement and use a biometric usb stick, before it will even boot up.
