This is just a thought i had and im not even sure if its doable but couldnt you have Alcohol put a code in images that it creates preventing that image from being burned or emulated by Alcohol on other peoples comps without the right code? Each version could have its own code based on its serial number that way image files could not be shared on the web.... unsure.gif

But in theroy its like contradicting itself, because alcohol needs to be able to read the code it would therfore be able to make another program to read the code and one to insert it onto the disk....

A good idea that would stop priacy would be to insert some kind of code onto the copied disk, that would report the disk is a copy and not an original, and anyone who wasnt using an original wouldnt be able to make another copy( I realise that ignore media type kinda defeated one variant of this but why not insert a differnt kind, one that doesnt allow backups from backups... not backups from playing. This isnt aginst the law but is a good idea in itself and will stop backups from spreading by making backups of the backups and handing them out. Making backups of backups is a bad thing anyhow due to generational data loss.

Actually it is possible, but would require the support of the protection\game companies who are actually unwilling to help in any form when it comes to personal back ups.

In short you break your original and these companies want you to pay for another disc.
