Just wondering how many Optical Drives folks have.

I have 5 in service right now, but have extras laying around when testing is needed.

i have 7 actually in Service ( though one maybe broken a NEC ND 2510A ) couple of CD Burners that i had to remove to make way for DVD Burners and various CD/DVD drives that are just lying around.

Well, I think most of the people have two of them on one computer as I do.

Personaly I have one DVD and one DVD-RW, which means one burner. However I prefer this combination tnan the one of CD-RW and DVD-RW because it gives the extra option to copy DVDs on the fly.

Your title is 'How many Optical Drives do you own', I am not certain whether it means only writers or includes readers as well. Therefore to show a wealthier property, I choose the latter.

NEC 4x reader (so dear, heart pain)
Sony 8x/2x CDR writer (no RW) (Again, $$$)
Asus 40x reader
Asus 52x/32x/52x CDRW writer
DVD+/-RW writer (Notebook internal)

Currently, the NEC 4x and Asus 40x readers are removed.

actually meant was Burners, if i include the Computers from my two kids and all the Opticals lying around your looking at around 20 Drives.

I usually sell off my old stuff when I'm done with it, so I only have 3 burners, 4 opticals total. In my main PC, I've got my LiteOn DVD-ROM and CD-RW plus my LiteOn DVD±RW in an external enclosure. In my second PC, I've just got my LG DVD±RW.

I have 2 burners (one CD-RW, one DVD-RW on my current PC) and about 3 CD drives that can't read burnt discs and are around 6 years old. I have now idea of why I still have these.

Even I boosted my properties, the figure was still five only, fitted only in the 1-5 group, no way it could go to the higher one.

Hi,

I own 5 optical drives (1 x DVD writer, 2 x DVD-ROM, 2 x CD-writer). Four are installed in my PC (big tower), the remaining is my external USB-drive for SF3 backups.

If you don't mind, I can lend you my hands and feet. In addition, I believe they are more useful as there are six fingers and toes on each hand and foot, except my left foot, there are only four.

I have only 2 drives currently on me, mainly for a lack of more free time, money and useage for more then what I've got now. If I were an alc beta tester or had more money / time I would probably own a few more drives. But for now all I own are my cheap phillips CD-RW/DVD ROM drive and my NEC ND 2510A DVD+/- RW DVD+R DL.

I got three. Two are connected up in the computer, the other is in a box waiting to be put in the recycling bin down the local dump site. Unless of course someone wants it, you can pay the postage and have it for free!!

Its an old TDK Cyclone 24x12x40B I think, I can`t be bothered to have a proper look.
