I'm trying to make some copies of my childrens gaming cd's because I'm tired of replacing them...

I've been trying to copy command and conquer generals and the database state that it's safedisc datatype.
I select the datatype "safedisc" and get nothing but reading errors. The disc works fine and the program seems to work fine with other cd's. (although I've yet to find something that this works on...)

My drive is on the supported list etc...

Below is my system log as requested. I would very much like to purchase this software "if" it works with/for the games my children currenlty have.

Also I'm trying to copy Zoo Tycoon 2. The database states that it is a "SmartE" datatype and I see no option for it? The program will not even read the disc... and yes it's a good working disc.

These read errors are a part of the SafeDisc protection and only exist in the first few percent of the disc, just let them pass through.

For the Smarte protection, just select the SafeDisc 2/3 datatype.

Thank you that seems to be working for the gaming cds I mentioned.

I have one other cd called eyeQ. I searched the databse and I don't see any
info on it.

I've tried to Image it many times using Safedisc 2/3, Read sub channel, Data
Position, and andvanced sector scanning etc... I did a search and found a post
where somone had recommended just using the safedisc 2/3. It copies and installs
fine etc... However, it still "knows" that it's the original cd???

Upon trying to run the program the pop-up of "please insert the original program cd"
comes up every time... any ideas?

Try scanning the original disc with A-Ray or Protection ID (search google). If nothing comes up then scan the installation directory to.

Neither detects anything, also tried some of the others I gleaned from posts on CDFreaks.

Apparently this newer version 3.3x has some new type of protection scheme that is yet to
be mastered...

Any idea's?

You scanned both the discs and the directory they were installed to, and it didn't detect any copy protection from either location?

Sorry misunderstood you... Upon reviewing the installed directory it reports the following.

Scanning -> C:\Program Files\Infinite Mind LC\eyeQ\eyeQ.exe
File Type : Exe, Size : 63270912 (03C57000h) Bytes
[!] Tages v5.0 - v5.4 protected !
[!] [PROTECTiON LEVEL] -> Tages BASIC
- Scan Took : 4.296 Seconds

What would you recommend?

I believe Tages is still one of those protections that are not possible to backup.

its possible, just no 'public' tools exist to do it, even after making the image
its unlikely it will burn ok, so it will only be able to be used with a virtual drive
rumors of tools / plugins coming to do it, we will just have to be patient
