Just to let you know that it wasn't wrong for me to give my friend a copy of what I was copying.
Thanks and I apologize for my last message.

Hiya all... was just wondering(don't know if this is the right area), but I
have a friend that signed up for the customer preview program and is on
dialup and would take him forever to get and alot of disconnects to get.
What I was wondering is that is it wrong(against policy) to give him a copy
of it as I am on broadband. He has recievced his own product key from
Microsoft and just doesn't want to go though the hassle of downloading it on
dialup. Thank you.

not at all. as long as he's using his own key, who cares where the disk
came from.

Even if he gave him the key, it would be fine- 10 installations, remember?
Just to clarify....

Doug,
Our support staff follow strict guiedlines as it is stated on Microsofts site Reminder: You cannot distribute download packages. we are obliged to stick with policy and close such topics regardless of what may be posted on forums, microsofts or otherwise.
I am sure you can understand that we only have your word that he is in possesion of a MS issued serial number and is signed on for their beta testing program, another point of issue is that when MS released Vista RC1 testers were able to have discs mailed to them directly from MS, maybe your friend should have taken up that offer.
And regardless of any of the above, your question was answerd in topic http://forum.alcohol...showtopic=24236

I would suggest you use the lowest write speed that you have and good quality media, if your PC can read the disc then i would start to question the drive in your friends PC.
