Hi!
A long time ago I had installed Alcohol 120% on my computer. I don't know which version it was. But since this time there's a 3rd device - althought I only have 2 devices. The 3rd device is called "scsivax dvd/cd-rom scsi cdRom device". I already tried to delete the device - but the device is still there after a new start of the system. Also I tried to change the number of the virtual devices with the newest version of Alcohol 120%, but the virtual device is not shown as a virtual device, but as a physical device!
Please help me!

Thomas

Delete the device again from Device Manager, but do not reboot. Then delete the "Plug And Play BIOS Extension" from System Devices down below. Reboot after that and it should be gone.

You're welcome. Glad my post could help you. Though I have to say, considering you've been a member for 2 years now, if you still use Alcohol you should consider buying a license to show your support to the devs. If you're not using Alcohol anymore, then good luck with whatever you decided to go with instead.

Hi hi, new to the forum. I've followed the above instructions and removed the SCSIvax but now my DVD-RW cannot read any discs at all. I insert a disc (whatever kind... data, audio, DVD) and it doesnt read it. Nothing appears on Explorer or My Computer.

Can someone please help?

Look in the Device Manager for a device with a question or exclamation mark beside it and check what is reported about its condition in its "Properties" tab.

Please uninstall it from the Device Manager and reboot so that Windows recognize and reinstall it automatically.
