Hi Team,
I'm trying to use the Image Making Wizard to make a back-up of a data CD-ROM. It is an expensive textbook, which is very costly if the original was scratched!
Using Protection ID, I've discovered it uses SecuROM 7 for it's copy protection, and I made the appropriate adjustment in the wizard settings (selecting datatype as Securom NEW (4/5/7)).
However, I still get the above error message. I've tried using slower speeds (even x8 and x4).
Is it purely a hardware problem? What model/make CD/DVD burners to you recommend to analyse DPM?
Regards
yoko
System Report recorded and removed by Tron.... Thanks........
Cannot get the right DPM info from the disc with current device

Not all devices are capable of obtaining the DPM from the disc. Have you another optical drive to try?

YEs. It's worked on my laptop.
Another quick q: once the trial period expires, does the virtual drive also disappear, and therefore, I cannot use the image I've burnt already?

Yes, Alcohol will stop working (the virtual drive is part of it, so it will stop working too).

However you can still use the virtual drives of Alcohol 52% Free Edition or Daemon Tools( which is also freeware and has the same virtual drive engine with Alcohol).

Could you please provide a list of drives that support DPM reading...

There isn't such a list. In fact improvements in the DPM function, such as the next version of Alcohol may have, make it possible to read the DPM whith drives that weren't able for it before.

When are you going to release a new version of Alcohol 120%?

Release dates are never given, but retail customers find out first and sometimes the trial version may appear after the retail version has been released.
