Hello,

I'm starting with ALCOHOL.

I start with "Image Making Wizard" and insert the original DVD.

I know that my DVD is "SecuROM 7x" protected.

But I can't get the "Datatype" selection dropdown menu unless I "Load/Eject" the disk.

When I do so (Load/Eject), I will now see the "Datatype" fiel and be able to choose the "Securom (4/5/7) but the "Next" button will stay unselectable.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Roger

Thank you for your system repport, which I removed.

For making an Image from a DVD protected by SecuRom, you donīt need a datatype. Enable DPM (Data Position Measurement) with precision High, furthermore, you will be asked the reading speed of DPM, accept maximum.

Ok. Still doesn't work.

I'm trying to copy TOMB RAIDER ANNIVERSARY.

When I launch the game with the archive disk made with ALCOHOL, I get an error message from the game: "Please insert original CD/DVD "TombRAider-A" - refer to www.securom.com for more details".

Any other idea on how to make it work?

NB: I tried twice with different DVD brands

OK, you didnīt say anything about making a backup copy to a DVD and play it from there ... So, try it that way: did you check under options, emulations: Ignore Media Type, RMPS, Sub-Channel Data fixed and Emulation!?
Did you install the game from your backup DVD and did you play & install from the same drive?

No, I didn't try anything you suggest.

Going to do so and give a feedback asap.

Thanks

Still doesn't work.

I can't even see what is in the DVD (can't explore it).

What am I missing here?

Donīt know. Could you explain step by step what and how you have done this entire process? From making the Image till trying to play, incl. the making of your backup copy. Maybe we will find a clue.

Btw, have you tried to install and play from the Image? (donīt forget to de-install everything before that)

Have you burned the DVD with the RMPS data? For a SecuROM copy protected disk DPM when making the image and RMPS when burning it is necessary.
