I have a Lite-On LTR 52327S CD burner that died.
My Pioneer DVD burner is not compatible with the DPM function on Alcohol 120.
Questions:
1. What's the best CD burner for Alcohol 120? I actually don't care that much about burning, I just want a drive that will make really great image files. I own all the games I play but prefer using image files instead of changing CD's.
2. Where is a good place to buy it?
3. What's the best CD/DVD burner Combo for Alcohol 120?
My Lite-On took about 5 minutes to make a working image file. My Pioneer DVD burner takes about 4 hours to make an image file if the disk has SafeDisk and won't make a working Image file of SecureRom at all.
If you don't know which one is best please give me your recommendations.
Thanks!!!

You're not using the latest version, maybe you should update.
1. Plextor Premium or Premium 2 CD burners are the best you can get, but they are very difficult to get.
2. Don't live in the US of A, so can't help you much ...
3. Lite-On CD/DVD combo burners are well knowned to function with Alcohol, otherwise, I've heard that LG has some good burners, but I have no personal experience with them.
Above are my personal recommendations.

The game is a Securom one? if yes try to delete any keys related to Securom in the registry, reboot and try to play again. If you still have problems then report here any error message that you get. You can also try making a new image with the new version.
Also you can apply for access to the customers-only forum. Just PM an Admin with the email that you used when you bought Alcohol and the desired username and password.

The Plextor is just to expensive, I found a few and they were over $100.
I ended up buying another lite-on from newegg for $17.99. http://www.newegg.co...N82E16827106084 I hope it's ok to post a link.
The Lite-On is working great, the image files are work just fine. While making an image file of Jedi Academy (an oldie but fun and is protected by SafeDisk V2) I set it to run at maximum speed the Lite-On reached 52.8X during the image making process. This thing is smoking fast and the images are working great. :-)
Just had to comment that since upgrading to the latest Alcohol 120 I'm very impressed with the improvements over the last version I was using.

I have removed your post. We are more than happy when a trial user has a problem with our software to provide assistance, but we draw the line at users simply posting insults and not giving us a chance to provide a remedy once a system report (as required by the forum) is provided.

I usually find cleaning the drives lens by hand on failing CD and DVD burners does wonders to revive them.
