img file for burning

I just have an image that's img and it's not listed as a type supported for mounting, but when I click all files and pick my img file it mounts it just fine and everything works good.
when I try to burn the img file it gives me an error. I mount the img and copy it into another format and then have to burn it. It's not such a big deal, but would save a lot of time if I could just burn this image.

.img is an image format supported my Stomp RecordNow Max. Like whoda says, Alcohol will mount these images, but it gives an error when you try to burn them. If Alcohol could only correctly support .img files and .gi files, the world would be perfect.
