I have installed the free edition of Alcohol 120%; when I open acid to cloack a virtual device acid says that all my devices are physical, and the cloak button is grey. Am I doing something wrong?

Do you have Windows 10? Several things don't work on Windows 10, there may be problem with ACID too. By the way are your virtual devices made by Alcohol (not any other program)?

Yes, I have windows 10, and the virtual drives are made by alcohol.

Then Windows 10 maybe the problem, I don't have Windows 10, maybe somebody else can have a look?
