Hello!

I am using the latest trail version of Alcohol 120% and i was trying to create an Image of my original Resident Evil 3 - Nemesis (PAL) game using Play Station profile in CCD format (tried MDS also) and i have some strange results to report if it helps to fix something:

Using ePSXe emulator

----------------------------

Playing game from original disc with read subchannel data on emulator:
My Pioneer BD-208D (FW 1.50 - Drive not in Alcohols database): Works flawlessly

My LiteOn iHAS124  F (FW CL99): Not working (hang on violence warning message)

Playing game from Image created on emulator with open ISO or Image loaded on Alcohols Image Drive:

Image created with Pioneer BD-208D (FW 1.50) and Alcohol 120% above settings: Works flawlessly

Image created with LiteOn iHAS124  F (FW CL99) and Alcohol 120% above settings: Not working (hang on violence warning message)

Image created with LiteOn iHAS124  F (FW CL99) AND OTHER CD Copying software with CCD format and Subchannel Read-No data fixing: Works flawlessly

You see, one can say its IHAS problem (Who supports RAW DAO 96 writing) but image created with same drive on other software works...

Thank you for your time!

Since the original disc is not working on this drive then there must be some kind of problem with it (the one you mention or something else). I can't tell why and how the image made with the other software works.

Since i don't know any other emulator that can read sub-channel data directly from disc or even iso without SBI file (Duckstation the most currently known emulator can't), we can't be sure if ePSXe support correctly the LiteOn also (has a warning that sub-channel reading may make the drive not work at all). The other software (if its not a problem, i can say the name-probably guessed already) obviously can't apply patches on image  and supposedly if any alterations exist in original code, it will trigger the copy protection.

Well, I don't have a solution to propose, it seems that this is the best that you can do with ePSXe and your LiteOn drive.
