There's a new version of Safedisk out: 3.15 in Prince of Persia the sand of time!

It adds 13 new weak patterns!
They can't be write correctly even with a 2 sheep burner like a Liteon 52327S!
The problem of the irregular weak pattern is that the probably don't get recognized by BW, Alcohol, CloneCD's Amplifying or Emulating of weak sectors

Phoenix is there a chance to tweak AWS/EWS/Bypass EFM algorithm in a way it can write correctly new weak patterns?

Please just do it! biggrin.gif wink.gif

My TEAC CD-W524E drive fails both the 1 sheep and 2 sheep tests but the Prince Of Persia The Sands Of Time backup CD I just created runs the game no problem. I used Alcohol 120% to make the backup and the only emulation I have on is 'Ignore Media Type'. All my others backups of Safedisc games work fine too and I have made many using both CloneCD and Alcohol.

The sheep tests I did were from here. Btw, if I actually wanted to copy the sheep test dat files created by this test to a CD-R, how do I do this?

Hi,

I was able to backup URU (SD3.1x) using my LG8320b as following:

- reading the CD with the SD2/3 profile, but disabling "fast error skip" (very important, otherwise even the image will not work !)

- writing the image with the SD2/3 profile (right, EFM was checked, even with my 2 sheep burner) on a normal CD-R

The backup works on at least two different PCs without any emulation sw installed. One PC has a CD-ROM, and the other has a DVD-ROM.

My latest Alcohol retail version did a very good job !

Greetings
Alex
