Well, the developement of ClonyXXL has stopped and the other related software is rarely updated. It would be very useful if Alcohol had a built-in protection identifier which would be updated every time a new Alcohol version is released. Should we wait for that in the future?

From discussions on this subject in the past I doubt the Alcohol team will ever include this in the software.

You should try Protection ID as this is regularly updated.

Where do I find Protection ID?
Been using CLony, and it has no updates past 2015

Alcohol cannot add a Protection Detector due to the legalities involved, in countrys such as Germany such programs or programs containing anything that can help you get past the protection normally wind up in court, there ae even cases where people who have had a really old version of ClonyXXL (which could not detect the newest protections ) on there website and have been pulled up before court or get warning letters from solicitors saying that they have caused X amount of damage to the recording Industry or simular and that they have to pay X amount of damages.
