I posted about this in the general Alcohol 120% forum but didn't actually get any response from any moderator/programmer of Alcohol.
Given the fact that "DVD" Jon, one of the hackers responsible for creating the decryption tool called DeCSS, used to thwart the DVD encryption CSS, was acquited of all piracy charges in both district and appeals court in reference to his DeCSS program.

Doesn't this open the door for the Alcohol team to maybe incorporate DeCSS in future releases of Alcohol, so that CSS protected DVDs can be copied?
Thanks for any answer.

Craig

Just because this guy was aquited in Norway, does not make it legal to add a DECSS function to copy software, there is still a long way to go on this issue and untill a final ruling is made we will not actualy add a DECSS function to Alcohol.
