Hey guys, and gals if any I've got couple of problems with my new Lite-On DVD combo burner on my sig. For some reason, whenever I make a DVD+VR(an editable DVD) using Nero, every one of the disk is book typed as DVD-ROM and I can't edit or erase them, although I did change the book type to "physical disk type" just prior to burning these disks.
When I use my older Sony DRU-810A, everything works fine using the same Nero 7 essential that came with the new Lite-On drive. I contacted support for Lite-On, but heard nothing back from them.
Also, when I use this Lite-On drive to make audio CD's, the disk refuses to play and show "error" in my wife's car CD player. The disk will play fine in my truck CD player, PC's and home CD players. I've tried different brand of CD's with same results with this Lite-On and when I used my Sony burner, it plays fine in her car player Both of the vehicles have the factory stock player that came with them(Toyota Camry and Tundra). Anyone got an idea what's happening?

Have you tried looking for any updated firmware for your drive?

Yes, I have and no, there is no updated firmware or driver. I know the problem is with the drive itself, since my Sony burner does what it supposed to do using the exact same burning software.

If the same things work with Sony drive, but not Lite-On one, providing that all the programmes' settings are identical, then those problems sound like component's matters rather than programme's.
I am afraid that only Lite-On company will have a solution, perhaps by updating its BIOS.

You also might have to wait for a new version of your software that supports your drive properly as your drive might be too new at this stage.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll just use the Sony burner for making all disks and Lite-on for playback and image making until I get some kind of reply back from Lite-On.
