I've used Alcohol before and I love it. Now that my laptop's DVD/CD drive has given up the ghost, I downloaded the free version of Alcohol 52% and I have been making images of games on my desktop. I made an image of SimCity 4 Rushhour, and it works perfectly on both computers. Next I attempted an image of The Sims 2: Freetime. Knowing it uses the Securom encryption system, I made sure I followed the Securom FAQ in the FAQ section. Okay, I thought the image burned correctly. When I mounted it on my desktop and loaded TS2, I received little dialog boxes saying that I needed to insert the CD/DVD (the real disc is a CD). That is, TS2 didn't see the image at all.

So I brought the image over to my laptop and mounted it with marginally more success. This time I am past the "insert disc" error. Now its a little box saying that emulation software was detected and that there was a conflict with it. That's a step forward, right? So, how do I stop it from doing that and play my game?

You are expected to post your system report from within Alcohol, before getting support. Thank you!

Try downloading YASU from http://www.free-down...t/programs/Yasu and run this to hide the Virtual Drive, then try playing the game.

Nope, tried it and it didn't get the message to go away and let the game play.

Until a blacklist solution is found then your only choice is to play from the original disc, which means uninstalling Alcohol. Hopefully the next version of Alcohol will remove this blacklist.

You can also try to disable or uninstall your physical drives from the Device Manager or the Alcohol's built-in EDM system.
