I have a bunch of DVD images that are under 650-700MB and Alcohol won't let me burn them to a DVD, it always says insert CD-R, and I don't see a option anywhere to tell the software that it's a DVD, not a CD I want to burn.

I'm not sure if this feature is already available, or if there's an option I'm missing. If I'm stupid just delete this post.

If they're less than 700MB's, why waste a DVD on them? Just burn them to a CD and be done with it.

Because they're short DVD movies, if you know how to get a DVD player to read full resolution 8mbit MPEG2 video from a CD, I will gladly burn them to CDs.

edit:

QUOTE

I'm not trying to make images, I already have a DVD image I authored. It's not CSS encrypted anyway.

Alcohol keeps thinking it's a CD Image.

For these images I've been just using Nero to burn them, but I would like to see Alcohol be able to do this correctly.

In Nero there is a drop down box where you can select what kind of media you want to burn it to.

What type of image is it (cue/bin. mds/mdf, iso, etc...)?

It is an ISO 9660 level 1 compliant image.

There are several good DVD editing softwares out there (NeroVision Express springs to mind). With a program such as this, you can turn all of those short DVD movies into one DVD with a menu to choose which movie you would like to see.

I know this isn't an answer to your question, but it seems to me to be the most practical way to go about this. Not only does it solve the problem with the image being too small, but it also would save you money on discs, and time switching between discs.

Also, Nero has an option to burn a "mini-DVD" onto a CD. I've never used this option, and am not too familiar with it, but that gives me the impression that it is possible to burn small DVDs onto a CD. Maybe this is DVD player dependent, though... I'm not sure.
