This is the error i receive, I previously had issues with slow image creating and i have finally ran into an error.. it starts off really fast (reaching 50% in 2 minutes), and i let it go.. then i come back about 10 minutes later and its at 77% at roughly .4 to .7x speed.

It hits 79%, and drops to .2x

it hits 80% and error

Please post a system report, including a detailed copy of the error log if you can. Also, please report what you're trying to make an image of, and what copy protection (if any) it uses.

Thank you for your SysRep, though after looking closer I just realized you had already posted one in another topic. I didn't notice that before. But anyway, as to your problem, it looks like your disc may be scratched. You could try selecting "Skip reading errors" in the options of the Image Making Wizard. You could also try going into the settings for Alcohol and change the number of retries before a read error occurs (default is 0, max is 16).

You can also try cleaning it in case it has any dirt, even if there isn't any visible dirt I can say from my experience that it worths a try.

Thank you both of you. The retries don't work, but skipping does (of course). It is still odd that it slows down to .7x at roughly 80%. I let it go further, and slowed down to .1x by the time it was 82%. I gave up on it once it hit .1x, since it would probably take way too long to finish at that slow of a speed.

To Charalambos - What do you recommend cleaning a CD with? I'm afraid to damage any data on the disc..

I personally use a plain soft tissue, dry or with a bit of- what else? wink.gif - alcohol. If you use it gently it doesn't make any scratches and alcohol isn't harmfull for the disk also.
