i have tried loads in order to copy this dicsc. at first i tried clone cd and waisted two discs. all it says is insert correct cd rom. so i decided to try alchol.

i copied it using the safedisc setting and the image file worked! when it came to putting it onto disc and running it the same error mesage came up.

so since i couldnt put it onto disc, i decided to have an image file on every pc i own, and alcohol.

when it came to putting it on my brothers laptop i did exactly the same thing and i got the error message when mounting the image. his drive is a TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SN-S082D.

SO i tried the downstairs pc and yep the image didnt work.

heres the copywrite protection

what am i dong wrong?

Thank you for posting your system report. Are you using Alcohol on the other computers?

Iīm having problems downloading your stored image at Imageshack, but I remember reading it had SafeDisc as copy protection, version I donīt remember anymore!

Did you use the same Image from the 1st computer or did you make a new Image on each computer?

Do you have some other Soft such as CloneCD or similar installed on your computers?

When i tried to copy the working image to a different pc the same error message came up(strange i know), so i tried to make a new image on each pc, but the insert disc still comes up.

i tried clone cd at the biggining and didnt like it(way to basic) so del it. i prefer alcohol.

heres the copyright i re uploaded.

Hello andy1992,

Make sure there are no leftovers (registry, etc. ...) of other Soft such as CloneCD, those will be discovered by SafeDisc and the game will not start.

Did you install the game from your Image or has the game been installed before? Make sure there are no leftovers of previous installs (registry, etc. ...)!

When you launch the game from Alcohol through the Image, go to "View" => DVD/CD drive EDM system => you will see all your drives, click on your real drives and deactivate them. Install the game and then launch the game. Donīt forgert to reactivate your real drives after you finished using Alcohol!!

Make sure you donīt have leftover on your hdd, from the game and other software (CloneCD, Daemon Tools, etc. ...)!
Then install from your alcohol virtual drive with the newly made image.
Btw, what is the original - on cd or dvd? And how have you made your image (settings)?

Hi Andy,

The read errors are normal for safedisc protection just let them run through. And no selecting ISO will not hael as that format can not hold the correct copy protection information.

Looks like itīs a CD, isnīt it? Did you use SafeDisc or SafeDisc 2/3/4 to make your image?
And did you deinstall the game, before reinstalling or playing from the virtual drive?

well since it works on one pc(even when cpoied the same image) but not the others, then your right ptolomeus3 their has to be something in registry and nothing to do with alcohol. do you guys know anyway of clearing this ive tried ccleaner.

yes i did deinstall, and i honestly cant remember which safedisk i used.

Whenever i run the original kaspersky tells me that it creates new file, is this signifigant?

It obviously creates a temporary folder, running from the image it should create the same folder too.
What are the specs of your three computers? Some chipsets- like the Nforce ones- make it easier to overpass a protection, so the differense may be on the hardware level. In fact, as far as I know, Alcohol can not really still overpass Safedisk 4.85, so you are rather lucky to be able to run the game from the image on at least one PC.
By the way, good to meat a compatriot. smile.gif

ok right, the thing is the pc or rather laptop that i managed to get working is quite low spec. Being a intel celeron 1.7ghz, 2.5gbram, vista basic and intel 950 graphics.

the one i am using now and trying to get an image is higher spec at Amd turion dual core, 1.5 gb ram, media 2005, nvidia 7400 and does have an n force go 430 chipset.

btw, its also nice to meet a fellow ellinas. closedeyes.gif

So it doesn't work on the N force one while it works on the other... Well, I think that you must just be glad for the one that the image works and wait for the next version of Alcohol. wink.gif
