Why not be able to change the content after you have mounted an image, or maybe be able to mount it in read/write mode.

If I was to venture a guess, this would be one of those legal "grey" areas.

This could not exist for copy protected games, as it would break the protection.

The topic has been discussed over at the dameon tools board frequently, and has never had any real potential. What you are basically saying, is you want a virtual cd-burner right? I would not count on this feature anytime soon, but I maybe wrong

if this feature was implemented and i injected files/folders onto into one of my iso game backups, would protection emulation no longer work because i have altered the size of the cd?

But is this going to be a new feature or not?
It isn't important (for me) to have the image mounted to edit the contents.
Like WinIso I would like to add files to an image or delete some when not mounted. It's perfect for testing purposes.
If you e-mail the people from WinIso you can ask them how they do it.
