I get this error when trying to activate this - have checked the hardware key on my activation and it is correct. I have only installed this two days ago and it activated fine, I have now installed my network domain name and I'm assuming the reason for the reactivation request is that I am a new user on this computer (I will switch users and see if this works).
I have turned off the fire wall - running win 7 64bit Ultimate this has made no difference

Seems I was correct - under my activated user the program works fine, under my domain user the program only responds with the string above.
Surely as this is the same computer the program is not hardlocked to a user on one computer???

Try reinstalling and reactivating Alcohol with your domain user name. In general Alcohol works for all the users of a computer- as far as the OS is the same- but the creation of a new user after its installation- especially a domain one- seems that can cause problems.
