As after talking email with competitor company (disc-soft) I heard about can turn support still to emulation protections like safedisc or securom.
In short mean discsoft share file reg to turn spdt as work on never Windows 10/11
File can download from :
http://files.disc-so...1558622682/287/

Some developers tested seriously if Alcohol work seriously or only turned of options for new windows?

And i looked on Alcohol 52 %. Now free version has only one virtual drive. Seriously? And still luminati inside. Why?

Best regards

I can't speak about Alcohol Soft policies, I am just a volunteer.

As for Disc Soft's reg file I don't know if and how it works, I'll ask an administrator to have a look at it.

we have recieved a reply from the developer who has spoken to Disc Soft and yes the patch does work but due to changes in Windows 10/11 regarding copy protection it will not work and both the Developer and Disc Soft mention that it is easier to use an older Windows in a VM for old games.

@Robbo, then I should understand, that patch will work only on emulation in virtual drives after make images, but when copy mean disc from disc, then will not work back up on new disc and general from physical disc will not work?
So why can't then unblock for virtual drives? For work mount image and work then. Or i understood bad, because you told "patch work but... copy protection don't work. If emulation work from virtual drive, so can't unblock emulations from virtual drives?
Sorry about my asks.

As I understand it may work but a VM is still recommended.

I just found out that the XP/7 version of Alcohol 120% works fine with the game NOT working on my 11 rig (Battlefield 1942). I suspect it's the latest SPTD driver. Also, Alcohol 120% reports SafeDisc version 2 or higher.

I don't know if SafeDisc games can even work on Windows 11 since secdrv.sys that SafeDisc uses is blacklisted. Some programs may have workarounds for that but Alcohol is just an emulation program, it tries to "satisfy" the copy protection and not bypass it.

I see. Well I've installed SafeDiscShim and that works fine with WinCDEmu and Battlefield 1942, so I'll leave it like it is then. On my older Dell laptop (Latitude D600 with XP) it works with Alcohol 120% though. Oh well, not much I can do about it. Like I said, I'll leave it there.
