its a very handy tool but why not have it find out what protection the cd is and then do it automatically

Alcohol could some how read the list and auto sugguest a protection type.

There should also be some sort of list of what would work in diffrent cercomstances, like:

Will the burned disk work in a Daemon tools computer? Alcohol?
Will it work in a computer without any of these?
Will it work in a mac?
With what options?

Things like that.

Some games use different protections in different countries, so a game can have SecuROM on it in one country, while the same game has SafeDisc in another country.
This makes these protection databases pretty useless...

Not really. It could test the disc somehow and report back and at least eliminate some of the choices.

the diffrent disks from diffent countries wouold obviously have diffrent entries in the databse.
