Youp, just bought a Lite-ON LTR-52327S, and it's great.

The CD/DVD-burner at work seems so sloooow now ;-) (16x CD-R.. the new NEC)

TeRmInAtOr 3: you forgot over expensive tongue.gif (compared to LiteOn). People say you get what you pay for, I think LiteOn CDR's are the exception to this rule.

I use to be a huge Asus fan, everything had to be asus. But after their A7N8X - never again. Each to their own I spose, as long as you don't say you really wanted a P4 then thats ok tongue.gif

h0h0, what arguments will that inspire >:)

and Liteon can.

I admit... I've dropped my plans of buying a Plextor, and installed a LiteOn in my comp some weeks ago..

The 52327S model.. Works like a charm :-D IE: 10mins to rip a wole CD protected with Cactus Datashield into MP3's... Gotta love that ;-) And the fact that it can burn at 52x speed...

I have both the Liteon 52x24x52 and the Plextor 24/10/40, plus a Pioneer A05 and an A06. I do Karaoke occasionally, so I like the Plextor because it can burn CD+G discs, while the Liteon and the Pioneers cannot.

Is this true? I have read a number of places that the LITE-ON drives, especially the LTR-52327S CAN write CD+G Karaoke discs.

Sheesh, I guest it is time for me to go shopping. I thought my LG 8160B that I bought 2 years ago was doing good until I try to back up Call of Duty. It does karaoke and I managed to back up all of my games that I own until now. So the lite on backs up safedisk 3+ & securerom 4+????

Let me know

Thanks

Just curious between the LITE ON DVD (model: LDW-811S) and CD (model: LTR-52327S) do they both support all the same extraction features (DAE & VCD)? I hate to buy two drives for the rare times that I need to burn DVD. But if I only want one drive am I sacrificying anything by going with the DVD drive over the CD??

The Toshiba SD-R 5272 seems to be a good alternative if you´ve got a + SD 3.xx disc and want to back it up,copy protection review here. CDR-Info´s complete review of the Tosh.

A vote for liteon is a vote for Sony! So I guess I love em both (kinda weird)

Hmm, I don't see LG on the list. Gotta admit, before I started working for my current employer about 4 years ago, I had never even heard of LG optical drives. But my 12x DVD burner (in my sig) has been great. However, I also like my LiteOn 16x DVD burner. Both can do SD 3.20, only difference being that the LG required quality media, and the LiteOn wrote it with my cheap stuff. smile.gif
